What is different here.
Woodside asks for the square footage of new landscaping and the square footage of rehabilitated landscaping as two separate numbers on the plan, using the state water ordinance's own definitions. Most towns ask for one figure, so this is the town where the distinction between a new garden and a rebuilt one has to be settled on paper before anything is submitted. Its tree requirements are equally exact. Trunks are measured four feet above grade, which is not the height its neighbours use, and the dripline of every significant tree has to be drawn wherever it falls over proposed work, including patios, pools, walls, fences, septic systems and utility runs rather than structures alone.

Woodside is one of the towns we work in most, so no travel charge applies. We also work well beyond these towns, with a $100 travel charge once, on the first visit, outside the towns listed.

For a new design or garden project, the consultation is $175 and covers the first hour on the property. If the visit runs past the hour, we agree the extra time with you first. For ongoing care, the maintenance walk is $75 so we can see the garden and price the work.
Visits are prepaid. Neither fee is credited toward later work.
